El Informador reports on the first collection of cartonera books in a public library in Mexico, donated to the Central Library of Jalisco. The collection of 70 books by local and international cartoneras was donated thanks to the support of our project partners at Cambridge University Library, Senate House Library and the British Library. Director of Cultural Programming at the Cultural Ministry of Jalisco, highlighted the new presence of the cartonera publishers in the Network of Public Libraries of the State of Jalisco as an example of work with the community. Director of Cultural and Artistic Development at the Cultural Ministry of Jalisco, Claudia Reyes Toledo, added that they have been working together across the two departments to improve the provision of the Library Network.
